Where the war mainly took place
The war of 1812 was not only fought on land but is was also fought on water. The war was mainly fought in Upper Canada, Lower Canada, on the great lakes, the Atlantic Ocean and in the United States of America. Some of the other places the war was fought is at York (Toronto), Washington, Sandwich (Windsor), New Orleans, Niagara, Kingston, Fort Erie, Fort Detroit and many more places the war was fought. Many battles were fought along the border because that is where the 2 nations met each other.

Important places during the war
QueenstonThe battle of Queenston Heights was the first major battle in the war of 1812. The battle was won by the British and took place on 13 October 1812 at Queenston which is near the Niagara River and the border between Canada and United States of America.

Beaver DamBeaver Dam is a small community in Upper Canada. Beaver Dam is now a part of the city of St. Catharines. This was the place of a battle in 1813. This was also the battle which Laura Secord warned the British of an American attack.

Fort NiagaraFort Niagara was the American military's headquarter for that area in the early stages of war. Later it was captured by the British and they held Fort Niagara until the war had ended.
